Dear Abby: Smoker gave up addiction cold turkey nearly 50 years ago

Ugh, cold turkey? That's just so harsh 🤯. I mean, what about people who need some help quitting? A 30-day program or something seems more realistic 💁‍♀️. And another thing, why do we still have smokers who can't even be bothered to quit? Four packs a day is crazy 😲. Can't they just take a few days off nicotine like that American Cancer Society dude said 🤷‍♂️. Also, canceling plans at the last minute? That's so rude 🚫. I get it when you need some space, but canceling on someone at the last second is just inconsiderate 🙅‍♀️.

I gotta say, quitting cold turkey without any help seems like a recipe for disaster... I mean, 4 packs a day? That's like trying to quit drinking after years of partying 😂💦. But hey, kudos to her for sticking it out and making it work! It just goes to show that willpower is everything when you really want something (or in this case, not wanting to be a slave to nicotine). I'm curious, though - has she had any regrets or cravings since quitting? And what about all those friends who smoked with her? Have they stayed smoke-free too? 🤔👫

🤔 I'm like totally blown away by this smoker who quit after 50+ years without ever picking up a cigarette again! Like, what's her secret? Did she have some sort of support system or was it just straight-up determination? 🤷‍♀️ And I feel you with canceling plans at the last minute - it's so rude to do that to your friends. Can't we all just be more considerate and loyal to each other? 😊

I'm still confused about this whole cold turkey thing 🤔. I mean, I've seen people quit smoking and stuff, but just stop completely? It sounds like a recipe for disaster 😬. I'd need some serious motivation to give up something I love that much. And what if it's not the nicotine that's the problem, but the social aspect of smoking with friends or whatever? 🤷‍♀️

I'm also kinda frustrated with how people are always canceling plans at the last minute 💔. Can't they just communicate a bit better? Like, I get it, life gets busy and stuff, but not getting any invites anymore is super annoying 😒. And what's up with that romantic relationship drama? 🤷‍♂️ It's like, can't we all just be honest with each other about our feelings or something? 🙄
