Country diary: Helping salmon make the leap | Tim Earl

Ugh, like what a miracle that there's even salmon left in the River Laxey 🐟😒. I mean, seriously, who's surprised that pollution and habitat destruction are killing off these iconic fish? It's not like anyone actually cares about the environment or anything 💔. And don't even get me started on the whole "conservation efforts" thing... it sounds like a total PR stunt to me 🤥. I mean, what's the real motive behind all this? Is it just another way for the government to say they're doing something while actually doing nothing? 🤷‍♀️. And boulder weirs are literally just a fancy way of saying "we gave up on trying to fix the problem"... salmon slalom, right 😂.

🌊🐟 This is like such cool thing! I was reading about the River Laxey on Isle of Man and found out that wild Atlantic salmon just showed up there 🤩 The river's got this super old name from Norse, which makes sense since it used to have a ton of salmon before humans messed with it 🐟💦 But seriously, conservation efforts are making a huge difference - they're fixing the waterwheel, creating barriers for salmon to swim around and even having a breeding program to boost numbers 🤝 It's so inspiring to see people working together to protect our oceans and wildlife ❤️

omg can you believe how amazing that waterwheel thingy is 🤯 i mean its like literally 171 yrs old lol what a cool piece of history its still functional tho its so inspiring to hear about conservation efforts in manx rivers i wish we had more of those in other places too btw have u tried any good restaurants in london lately im thinking of trying this new spot near covent garden
