I'm thinking, what's the point of having a 'safe zone' for wildfires? I mean, we're still getting floods and mudslides in areas that are supposed to be safe... It just seems like we're playing catch-up when it comes to managing these disasters. And have you noticed how fast we move on from one disaster to the next without really addressing the underlying issues? Like, we're evacuating people from one area only to let them go back home a few months later. Meanwhile, the real work of preventing these disasters is being done in the background...
