According to police, two members of the Australian women's cricket team reported that they faced inappropriate behavior when approached by a motorcyclist. "The security officers of the women's Australian cricket team filed a complaint that two members of the team faced inappropriate behavior," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya.
An arrest was made following an intensive operation, with the accused being charged under sections 74 and 78 of the criminal code related to assault or using criminal force against a woman to outrage her modesty and stalking. The police are examining if there were any shortfalls in their security protocols.
Cricket Australia confirmed that two team members were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe, stating they will continue playing in the tournament despite this incident.
