Arsenal and Crystal Palace Premier League games moved to ease fixture congestion

Premier League sides Arsenal and Crystal Palace have had their upcoming matches against Everton and Leeds United respectively moved to Saturday, December 20th from Sunday, December 21st. The decision was made by the Premier League after requests from both clubs in order to reduce fixture congestion.

Arsenal's trip to Goodison Park will now take place at 8pm, while Crystal Palace's match at Elland Road has been shifted from a mid-afternoon kick-off to an evening one.

The move comes as both teams prepare for their EFL Cup quarter-final matches. Palace are facing KuPS in the Conference League on December 18th with just two days between that and the Premier League match, although they will still be playing three times in four days.

Arsenal's game against Everton was also subject to a request from Mikel Arteta's side for the match to take place later. The Gunners stated that this would help players prepare for the EFL Cup tie as well as reduce the impact of television scheduling on travelling supporters.

The Premier League has confirmed that player welfare is their top priority and have moved the fixtures in an effort to minimize disruption to players.

πŸ€” just think about it, two teams playing every other day... that's a lot of travel stress for the players πŸ›«οΈ. some people talk about the fans too, but what about the actual people on the pitch? they gotta be ready to give their all 2 days after a midweek conference league match πŸ†. and it's not just about them, teams are getting crammed with games... does anyone really think that's good for the sport as a whole? 😐

omg u guys, i was so confused about when those premier league games were on lol now i know they're on dec 20th! think it's a good move btw, we don't want any more tired players getting injured πŸ€• especially with all the cup competitions going on at once. i feel like arsenal and palace are gonna have to pull an all-nighter or something though 😴😡 and leeds united might be getting some extra practice in on dec 21st? anyway, good decision by the premier league πŸ™

omg i feel for palace fans, they're playing 3 times in 4 days and it's gonna be super busy 😬 especially since they're already playing against kuops on dec 18th and then leeds on dec 21st...that's a lot of traveling πŸš— arteta made sense asking to move the everton match to sat tho, gotta prioritize player welfare over tv schedulings 🀝

I'm thinking, if we're gonna play so many games in such a short time, it's like trying to cram all our exams into one week 🀯. I mean, can't we just give ourselves some more time to study and prepare? My friend's team has an EFL Cup quarter-final match on Dec 18th and they have to recover for the next day's Premier League game...it's gonna be tough πŸ˜“. But hey, at least the Premier League is prioritizing player welfare, right? That's what matters most! πŸ‘

Ugh, another bunch of changes to the football schedule 🀯. I'm just waiting for them to switch everything to a 24/7 format so we can watch matches at any time πŸ•°οΈ. Can't they just stick to one day like everyone else? And what's with all these EFL Cup quarter-final matches happening in quick succession? It's like they're trying to break the players 😴. I get that player welfare is a concern, but do we really need this many changes? Can't they just leave things be for once? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

man i'm telling you, something fishy is goin' on here πŸ€‘πŸ‘€ like whats with all these last-minute fixture changes? can't they just make up their minds already? and what about the players? it's gonna be a real grind for them, playin' three times in four days. that's just askin' for injuries and burnout... maybe its more than just about fixin' congestion πŸ€” and television scheduling πŸ“Ί doesn't everyone have to sit through the same matches at the same time? is it just tryin' to boost TV ratings or somethin'?

πŸ€” I'm tellin' ya, somethin's fishy with this decision. Both Arsenal and Crystal Palace are playin' like 3 games in 4 days now? That's just crazy talk! What about player safety? Don't they know that travelin' from one match to another can be a real killer? And what about the TV schedule, really? Are they just tryin' to get more views or somethin'? I mean, I'm all for reducing fixture congestion and all that, but this seems like it's goin' a bit too far. Maybe there's some hidden agenda at play here... πŸ€‘

πŸ€• another weekend of congested schedules 😩 Arsenal & Crystal Palace are getting slammed with matches 🎯 2 days between EFL Cup and Premier League games is a lot of back-to-backs πŸ’” plus they gotta deal with TV scheduling stuff πŸ“Ί it's like the Premier League just wants to burn out their players πŸ”₯ and supporters will be stuck watching on tv instead of being at the match πŸ˜•

omg, can't believe how much match fixing there is going on in the premier league 🀯! anyway, i think it's super reasonable for arsenal and crystal palace to get some extra time to prepare for their efl cup matches, especially with palace having a conference league match just 2 days before theirs. 8pm kick-off at goodison park sounds like a great idea too, might make the game feel more intense 😏... but seriously, i hope this move helps reduce fixture congestion and doesn't add to player burnout πŸ€•. premier league needs to prioritize player welfare, it's getting ridiculous with all these back-to-back matches πŸ’”

I mean, think about it... why do we always have to push our athletes to be better, faster, stronger? We're already talking 3 matches in 4 days for Palace, that's just crazy! 😩 What does it even say about us as a society when we prioritize winning over people's well-being? Is it really worth the cost?

And have you seen the Premier League's schedule lately? It's like they want to exhaust our players. The fact that player welfare is their top priority now makes sense, but shouldn't this be a given from the start? It's just another reminder that we need to take care of ourselves and each other.

I wonder if this decision will have an impact on the bigger picture... are teams prioritizing winning over the health and happiness of their players because they feel like it's what fans want to see? πŸ€”

🀞 I think it's amazing what the Premier League is doing here! They really are putting players' wellbeing first, right? πŸ™Œ I mean, can you imagine having to play 3 times in 4 days and then travel for a TV game too?! 😩 That would be mental! πŸ’₯ By moving these matches to Saturday, they're giving the teams a chance to rest and prepare properly. It's all about finding that balance between competition and player care πŸ€— And I love that both clubs were able to have their say in the matter - it shows they value their players' opinions too πŸ’¬ Fingers crossed it works out for everyone involved! 🌟

πŸ€” Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans... and sometimes a little shuffle on the schedule can be just what's needed! πŸ˜… The Premier League's decision to move some matches around might seem like a hassle, but trust me, it's all about player welfare.

πŸŒ±πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ just saw that Arsenal and Crystal Palace are having their matches pushed back a day πŸ€” i get why they wanna do this tho, fixture congestion can be super stressful for teams & players πŸ’ͺ especially with all the cup competitions going on at once πŸ“… it's great that the Premier League is prioritizing player welfare πŸ‘ hopefully it'll make a big difference in terms of how everyone performs on the pitch ⚽️

πŸ€” I think it's a great decision by the Premier League to reschedule those matches, especially considering how congested December is already going to be with all the other tournaments and cup competitions πŸ“…. Arsenal and Crystal Palace are both in pretty hectic schedules right now, playing games on short notice and traveling long distances - it's no wonder they asked for a change ⏰.

I'm glad the Premier League listened to their concerns about player welfare too πŸ‘. It's all about making sure the players aren't burnt out from playing too many games in quick succession. And I have to say, I think it's brilliant that Arsenal is now getting to play Everton at 8pm - that should be a great match! πŸ†

It's just a shame Palace has to deal with such short notice on their part though 😞. They're already playing KuPS on the 18th and then they've got another Premier League game just two days later... it's a lot of back-to-backs, especially when you consider how little rest time they'll get ⏰.

Overall, though, I think this decision is a good one for both teams and for the league as a whole 🀝. It shows that the Premier League is looking out for its players and trying to minimize the impact of all these back-to-backs on their bodies πŸ’ͺ.

πŸ€” I'm loving this move by the Premier League! It's all about player welfare, right? Like, our footballers are human beings too πŸ™Œ and need some rest 😴. This change should help them prepare for their EFL Cup matches without feeling like they're on a never-ending marathon πŸ’¨. Plus, it's always better to have an evening kick-off – less travel stress for the fans, right? πŸš«πŸ‘ The Premier League is definitely showing its commitment to taking care of its players πŸ‘. Now, can we get some more updates on when the EFL Cup quarter-finals will be played? 🀞

I'm not sure about these fixture changes πŸ€”. I mean, I get it, reducing congestion is a good idea, but moving both matches to the same day? It's just going to be chaos for the fans 🚨. And with the EFL Cup quarter-finals already scheduled, it's like they're expecting everyone to play multiple games in quick succession without any extra rest days ⏱️. Player welfare is important and all, but let's not forget about the supporters who are just trying to enjoy a match without all the stress 😬. Can't we just have a normal weekend for once? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

πŸ€” This decision by the Premier League is a good example of how they're trying to balance the interests of all parties involved. I mean, think about it, if these matches were still on Sunday, players would be super exhausted from their Conference League and EFL Cup commitments πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.

But, let's be real, this move could also be seen as a bit sneaky by Everton and Leeds fans who were looking forward to watching those matches on Sunday πŸ˜’. I'm not saying the Premier League is trying to play them, but it does feel like they're giving some teams more priority than others.

And what about the impact on travel plans for supporters? They might have had to make last-minute changes to their weekend getaway πŸ—ΊοΈ. It's just another example of how football can be a bit unpredictable and messy at times.

But overall, I think it's good that the Premier League is prioritizing player welfare πŸ‘. That's what should matter most in this case – not which team gets the Sunday match πŸ˜‚.

just saw this lol, premier league changing some dates think its crazy how much fixture congestion is gonna be this december gonna be a mad 4 days for palace tho
